welcome to my world of music

Lauren Turk

I’m a French and English speaking singer and songwriter based in Oakland, California with a sensual, soulful, sound that reveals my reverence for nature, evokes mysteries of the feminine, and tells stories of self discovery, life and love. Alone at the piano, I write heartfelt songs as sweet invitations to feel what’s real, and in collaboration, I make music you’ll dance to ;)!

I grew up listening to and admiring jazz greats like Etta James and Ella Fitzgerald, playing violin in orchestra, as well as piano. Traveling the world, I became a student of music’s role in mystical-spiritual traditions as well as its power to unify people. After singing in the streets of Paris and Berlin, I knew I couldn’t ignore the music and love of performance inside of me, so I moved to LA to develop my sound. I published my first indie recording and production, an ambient cover of Edith Piaf’s “La Vie en Rose”, on SoundCloud, with 275K streams to date.

I’ve had the pleasure of collaborating and performing with amazing artists internationally and building an audience around the world. The album "Fire Inside (2020)," with French artist Anoraak released on Paper Records to critical acclaim, combining vibrant retro energy with lyrical depth, while “Close Your Eyes” (2024), a collaboration with Bay area artist KR3TURE quickly became a festival dance floor favorite with its mix of sexy, earthy lyrics and progressive house vibes. My first single, “Love Left Over” premiered on the Fader with a music video featuring Amandla Stenberg, followed by a full album, “Bloom” (2017), and singles “See You Again” (2018) and “Good is Coming” (2019), both featured on the debut of Facebook’s original show with Sofia Vergara, “365 Days of Love” (2019).

I’ve had the pleasure of bringing music to life on stages of all sizes and contexts around the world. I’ve sung for the Obamas, ambassadors, and crowds of thousands in Mexico for Dia de los Muertos, and Burning Man alike. I perform regularly at conferences like TEDx, Bioneers, HATCH, C2, the Ocean Plastics Leadership Summit, and for corporate leadership events of Fortune 500 companies. I have the honor of using my voice to mark meaningful moments in people’s lives, the joys as well as the sorrows, and periodically sing the processionals of weddings and funerals alike, as well as for healing in ceremonies of various kinds.

I love to push boundaries in my live shows, breaking the barrier between audience and stage with interactive concerts. USC’s Brain & Creativity Institute used my music to conduct studies on the impact of music on the brain, and I incorporated the MRI imagining as visuals to my live shows. I partnered with Airbnb to launch “Experiences” with my signature “Stories to Songs” concerts in LA, where the concert was fully improvised songs based on realtime stories of audience members. I also love weaving in rituals that use the power of music to its fullest, to connect people to their inner world as well as each other.

Performing at my Los Angeles residency “Stories to Songs” concerts supported by Airbnb
